Home » About

I am a Midwestern girl living in the Middle East.

I am a part-time English tutor, a full-time vegetarian, and am completely addicted to traveling (and coffee).

My expat locale will be referred to as “The Country”* to avoid insulting the wrong person(s) and winding up in a dusty, desert jail.

*EDIT (Feb. 2016): “The Country” = Qatar

I have been residing in The Country with my husband, “J,” since the summer of 2012.

This blog is intended to serve as a record of my expat life both near and far.

  1. Enyoyed this blog lots! I learned from it. I couldn’t tell what the yellow corn-looking food was that you and J enjoyed. Is it a type of rice? Seems that given the heavy traffic, the delivery people on motor bikes would be in danger. Obviously, they manage just fine. Bye!

  2. Just a quick note of thanks for the ‘like’ on my recent post…I have enjoyed reading through your posts as well – a great mix of useful information, personal reflection, and pop cultural reference – exactly what I appreciate in a good blog! I will look forward to reading more! best, Expatted

  3. Wow, your adventure must be a mix of culture shock and excitement, with a string dash of caffeine. Looking forward to following along with your adventure. With my coffee, of course.
